BARROW UPON SOAR NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN - REFERENDUM
A formal cabinet meeting was held on Thursday 14th December where the decision for the Barrow upon Soar Neighbourhood Plan to proceed to Referendum was approved.
The Referendum will be held on Thursday 8th February 2018 to determine whether the Barrow upon Soar Neighbourhood Plan should be made (adopted).

THRUSSINGTON NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
Thrussington Parish Council have submitted the Thrussington Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to Charnwood Borough Council for Examination.
The Plan will now undergo a formal consultation for a period of 6 weeks from Friday 12th January 2018 to Sunday 25th February 2018.

REARSBY NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
Rearsby Parish Council has taken the decision to withdraw the Rearsby Neighbourhood Plan and formally notified Charnwood Borough Council of this on the 13th December 2017. Please refer to Appendix 1 of the Withdrawal Statement below for the letter of withdrawal.
Welcome to the Charnwood Borough Council Local Plan website. Our Local Plan will set out how the Borough of Charnwood will grow over the next 15 years.
Charnwood needs a Local Plan because people are living longer, there are a growing number of single households and the population in Charnwood is growing.
Not only that, but homes are more expensive than most people can afford and the Council wants to meet the needs of its communities which includes providing affordable homes to buy and rent.
The Local Plan will also identify places where new homes and facilities, including schools, parks, roads and employment land, can be built.
It will mean the Council will be better able to protect our countryside and natural heritage by rejecting inappropriate planning applications for homes or businesses.
It will help us to make better use of derelict and vacant land to improve the quality of neighbourhoods in need of regeneration.
